Villa del Balbianello
This world famous venue has been home to elite weddings, fashion shoots and has been the backdrop for films such as James Bond and Star Wars.
It is situated at the tip of a small wooded peninsula.

Arriving by boat is one way to impress your guests. As they step off onto the peninsula a windy path leads up past terraces that have view points over the lake.
The most iconic spot of this villa is the three arched loggia. Looking north to Bellagio and the alps in the distance and south over the only island of Como, this spot is truly a special place to hold a ceremony or intimate dinner.
The paths that lead from the boat dock are studded with statues, elegant Cyprus and palm trees, boxwood and wisteria. These beautifully manicured paths are punctuated with terraces that are perfect for a ceremony or cocktails.
There are two options for dinner, the upper Loggia Segre which can hold up to 60 guests seated. The loggia has a private terrace that can also be used for an after party, dancing or cocktails.
The lower garden terrace is the second option for dinner. Here a marquee is compulsory, giving a maximum capacity for a seated dinner of 150 people.
The villa was originally a private residence, but is now a museum owned and run by the Italian National Trust, FAI. It has many rental options from a couple of hours for just photos or a ceremony to a full day for an entire event.
Villa del Balbianello is unique in the fact that it is one of very few Lake Como venues that has no neighbours, meaning that you can party late into the evening.
